What ukulele tunings are used at the workshop?
Both C6 tuning (g, c, e, a) and D6 tuning (a, d, f#, b) are accommodated at the workshop. In fact, there are separate classes at each level
- one in C6 tuning and one in D6 tuning
- so that no one gets confused. Handouts will be available in both tunings. Please note that there are no classes specifically for baritone ukulele (tuning: d, g, b, e). For more information on ukulele tunings, click here.

I'm a music teacher but I've never played ukulele. Is this workshop right for me?
Yes. You'll find that our Level 1 or Level 1.5 classes are just right for you. Every year we have dozens of music specialists learning to use the ukulele in their classes. You won't be alone!

I'm not a music specialist but I'd like to teach my students to play ukulele. Is this workshop right for me?
Yes. The ukulele has a very gentle learning curve. With the right instruction methods, success can be almost instant for both you and your students. The most important thing is that you're motivated to learn and open to absorbing new ideas.

I'm not a teacher at all, I just like to play. Is this workshop right for me?
Absolutely. All of our clinicians teach in a very hands-on, repertoire-based style. Throughout the workshop you'll be surrounded by like-minded people looking to share ideas, techniques and songs. The Langley Ukulele Workshop is perfect for any ukulele enthusiast wishing to develop his/her skills and repertoire (just have a look at the list of workshops we have planned!).

Registration
How do I register for the workshop?
Online registration is handled exclusively through the Ukulele in the Classroom online store. It's fast, easy, and secure. You'll create an account, register, and receive your confirmation email in just minutes. Click here for a step-by-step registration guide.

Can I pay my registration by cheque or money order?
Yes. When you get to the checkout stage of the registration process, you can choose to pay by cheque or money order instead of by credit card. Please note: your registration will take effect only once payment is received.
Top Can I pay using an American Express card?
Not at this time. The Ukulele in the Classroom online store accepts Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, cheques and money orders

Can I register for part of the workshop and pay less?
Sorry, we only sell full registration for the workshop.
Top I'm having trouble registering online. What can I do?
Please contact us by email if you're having trouble registering online. Be sure to include your phone number, time zone, and a good time to reach you. We'll contact you by phone to manually complete your registration.

What is your refund policy?
Need to cancel your registration? Just say so. No hard feelings; we know that plans can change. If you cancel on or before September 14, 2011 we will refund your full registration fee. If you cancel after September 14, 2011, we will refund your registration fee less a $25.00 administration fee for each cancelled registration. No refunds will be given once the workshop has started.

Classes / Levels
I'm just starting out. Will I be left behind in the classes?
Our teachers are some of the most experienced in the world; they will do their best to accommodate all levels of ability in their classes. That said, please try to attend classes appropriate to your level and don't be afraid to move to a different class the one you chose isn't what you thought it was going to be.

I've been playing for a while and I'm pretty good. Will I be bored in the classes?
Not likely. There's enough depth on our teaching staff to keep even the most curious and advanced players happily challenged.

Can you recommend a good hotel in the area?
The Hampton Inn & Suites is the official hotel of the Langley Ukulele Workshop. When you make your reservation tell them you are with the Langley Ukulele Workshop.

Which airports are closest to Langley?
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is located approximately 45 minutes from Langley. Abbotsford Airport (YXX) is a smaller facility with more limited flight options; it's located approximately 35 minutes from Langley.
